Costa Mujeres lies north of Cancun, about 45 km from the airport, and the drive takes 45 to 65 minutes. This is the route where distance is most misleading: it looks close on a map, but you have to cross or skirt the whole city of Cancun, and that drives the real travel time far more than the kilometres do.
It is a recently developed area, with large resorts lined up along a single road. Several properties opened after the maps were last updated, so GPS still routes people through entrances that are no longer in use, or the long way round via the Hotel Zone.

ADO bus
There is no bus service reaching Costa Mujeres. Airport routes go to downtown Cancun or south along the 307, so you would need a taxi from the terminal anyway.
Uber
It works within Cancun, but airport pickup remains unreliable because of the taxi union dispute. On top of that, several resorts in the area do not allow unregistered vehicles up to the door.

One of the pricier airport taxi runs, because of the distance and the driver's empty return trip, and the price is agreed with no written tariff.

They are used almost interchangeably and share a fare zone, but they are adjacent developments with separate entrances. That is why we always ask for the exact resort name.
Does the driver go all the way to the resort door?
Yes. We work with the area's access points and drive to the lobby whenever the property allows it; if a resort requires prior vehicle registration, we arrange it before you arrive.
Can this be combined with the Isla Mujeres ferry?
Yes, but it is a separate destination: the ferry leaves from Puerto Juárez, which is on the way but is its own stop. Mention it when booking and we quote it accordingly.
